CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Katy Brown) -- People living in the Bougemont area of South Hills feel violated after they said a stranger tore through their cars and left with thousands of dollars of goods.

Beth Bloch and seven of her neighbors living in the neighborhood recently woke up to an unwanted surprise.

"That morning I did come out to the car and thought 'Oh my gosh, did I leave this car in this mess?'" Bloch said.

She said she quickly realized that wasn't the case.

Everything from purses, iPads, money, jewelry and credit cards were taken.

Bloch said after swiping her credit card, the suspect even used that card several times.

But, for many neighbors, the interesting part was how the suspect got to this remote neighborhood.

"We learned he rode a bike to break into the cars around our house and into our car," Bloch said. At the end of his raid, Bloch said the suspect threw the bike he used in the back of a truck and stole a truck.

Bloch and several other neighbors filed police reports with Charleston Police.

They believe police know who the suspect is. And one thing's for sure, it was someone who certainly knew what they were doing.

"Just because you're on a flat land or it's easy access doesn't mean those are the ones who are always hit," Bloch said. "We're not immune. Theft is rampant in South Hills."

Bloch's bank is working to recover her stolen credit cards and the police are still tracking down the suspect.
