PROCTORVILLE, Ohio (Tiersa Davis)-- The name of a worker who was killed in a construction accident in Lawrence County, Ohio has been released.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office said Bradly D. Jenkins, 45, of Otway was killed Thursday morning.

The sheriff's office said the accident happened about 11:40 a.m. on Thursday during construction of the Indian Guyan Creek Bridge on State Route 7 in Portsmouth. Deputies said Jenkins, who worked for Complete General Construction, slipped into a hole about 35 feet deep that was filled with water. Debris and rock fell on top of him, trapping him.

Deputies said trained divers from the Portsmouth Fire Department were called to retrieve his body, but they were unsuccessful because he was trapped between rocks. At 9 p.m., rescue crews decided to dig him out with machinery. Jenkins body was recovered about 10:15 p.m. His body was sent for an autopsy.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration began an investigation into the incident Friday morning. No foul play is suspected.
