CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Jeff Morris) -- Supporters of West Virginians for Life were gathering at the Capitol on Tuesday for the annual Pro-Life Rally and Day at the Legislature.

Several speakers, including Dr. Wanda Franz, president of West Virginians for Life, was slated to address the crowd at the noon rally, according to a news release from organizers of the event.

Organizers said several pro-life legislators will be introduced and petitions presented during the rally. Other highlights include special music and the annual Prayer Processional with walkers carrying crosses.

West Virginians for Life is working to pass legislation that would provide an abortion opt-out in the new West Virginia health care exchange. Twenty-four states have passed similar bans on abortion funding in health insurance.

A second bill of interest is the Pain-Capable Unborn child Protection Act, which would prevent abortions after the unborn child feels pain.
