A woman crashes into a home in Charleston and police said she was high on heroin at the time, and a man died of an apparent heroin overdose the evening before at her home.

April Dawn Weaver's car plowed thru a fence, a gas line and into a house on falcon drive early this morning.

Police found several syringes in the car and said Weaver admitted she shot up with heroin earlier. The Charleston woman was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Crash victims cleaning up the mess were surprised Weaver or one of them was not hurt.

About 10 hours before the crash, police said they found a man dying from an apparent heroin overdose at Weaver's home. Richard Jones, 35, of Charleston was pronounced dead at a hospital. Witness statements and syringes make police think he overdosed on heroin.

A woman faces a charge after police said she struck a home with her vehicle and admitted that she had used heroin prior to the wreck.

April Dawn Weaver was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after the accident that occurred about 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 2200 block of Falcon Drive, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

The complaint said Weaver was driving a car on Falcon Drive when she lost control and struck two fences and then hit a house on the northwest corner. After the crash, it was determined that Weaver's driver's license was currently revoked for a DUI from 2009.

Weaver showed signs that she was under the influence of drugs and several syringes were found inside her vehicle, police said. The complaint said she acknowledged that she had injected heroin earlier in the evening. Police said several field tests indicated a high probability of impairment.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Weaver was being held in the South Central Regional Jail.

The driver of a car ran into a house and broke a gas line Wednesday in Charleston.

It happened about 4 a.m. at a house in the 2200 block of Falcon Drive.

911 dispatchers said no one in the car or the house was injured. The driver was arrested at the scene by Charleston police, but details surrounding the arrest haven't been released yet.

The gas line has been shut off.
