Take advantage of the great weather this weekend by doing something for a great cause.
The West Virginia State Police and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia (House) have partnered to host the 1st Annual McTrooper 5K Run/Walk to be held at 9 a.m. Saturday. The event will start and finish behind Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital.
Registration is now $30. All registrants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt with the official McTrooper Run logo.
The purpose of the McTrooper Run is to support and promote Ronald McDonald House’s mission of providing a home away from home for families of seriously ill children. The proceeds from the race will help fund the construction of a new Ronald McDonald House in Charleston to provide comfort and care to thousands of parents of seriously ill children throughout the region.
