Some changes are occurring at the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association.
The shelter, which houses 236 animals, has seen a big reduction in euthanization over the last year. Since last September, there has been 70 percent fewer animals put to sleep.
More specifically, there has been a 53 percent reduction in dog euthanizations and a 68 percent reduction in cats.
