Jackson , Jackson County , Ohio
A Jackson County sheriff's deputy escaped injury after troopers said a car that failed to yield to a stop sign caused the cruiser to wreck.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated the crash that happened about 1 p.m. Monday on U.S. 35 in Jackson. Troopers said witnesses told officers that a Jackson County deputy was responding to an emergency call when the driver of another vehicle disregarded a stop sign and pulled into the path of the cruiser. Troopers said the deputy swerved to avoid a crash, causing it to spin and wreck in a ditch. The driver of the other vehicle did not stop, troopers said.
The deputy was not injured and the cruiser suffered minor damage. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
