Wayne , Wayne County , West Virginia
State Police have made an arrest in an alleged murder of a Wayne County man.
Police continued to comb through evidence Saturday on the suspect's property hoping to piece together what might have happened.
A 'Keep out' sign hanging on a trailer is now an ominous message that has neighbors wondering what exactly took place on the property.
State Police have arrested Erica Streets, 31, and her boyfriend Daniel Kilpatrick, 51.
After interviewing them, troopers believe Streets murdered Julius Davis, who has been missing for several months.
Troopers think after the murder, Kilpatrick helped bury Davis.
The search centered on the couple's property on little Lynn Creek Road in the Easy
Lynn area of Wayne County, where ultimately the body was found.
A woman, who did not want to be identified, said kids who played with Streets' children had complained of a 'dead smell' and weren't allowed in certain areas.
"16 and 17-year-olds would always say it smells like dead animals," she said.
Troopers think Davis has family in the Mingo County area, but are having a hard time locating them.
The couple's children are staying with other family. Streets is charged with first degree murder. Kilpatrick is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
"I have kids,” the woman said. “She deals with a lot of the kids. Who's to say she wouldn't do it to them?"
The arrest was comforting to her, as the people on the road hope for closure for Davis's family
