A police pursuit that began in Charleston Tuesday morning and then headed west on Interstate 64 has been called off, Metro 911 said.
The chase began when the Charleston Police Department tried to pull over a red Camaro about 8:25 a.m. in the Greenbrier Street area, an emergency dispatcher said.
State Police picked up the pursuit on I-64 west. The pursuit was called off about 9 a.m., and the vehicle was last spotted about 9 a.m.
Police were involved in a high-speed chase Tuesday morning in the Charleston area.
Metro 911 said Charleston police were attempting to pull over a red Camaro in the Greenbrier Street area about 8:25 a.m. when the incident began. The driver reportedly tried to run police off the road.
The vehicle got on Interstate 64 and was last reported in the Institute area headed toward Cross Lanes and Huntington.
