A Charleston man was arraigned on attempted murder charges Saturday.
Robert Smith was back in court Saturday morning.
"I got indicted for attempted murder without having a preliminary hearing or anything," Smith said.
Smith was arraigned Saturday on attempted murder charges stemming from a shooting back in March.
When the shooting happened, Lt. T.M. Abbott of Charleston Police said the crime scene was massive.
"Forty-plus casings were collected at the scene," Abbott said, " It appeared to be just a good ole shoot out."
The shooting happened on Charleston's West Side in front of a Korean restaurant on Washington Street.
Two people, Cierra Leftwhich and Andre "A3" Williamson, were shot.
Police said Smith worked with Jon Paul Clements, both who were charged with malicious wounding, wanton endangerment, and firearm possession. On Saturday, attempted murder was added to that list for Smith and it's a charge he said he has already been indicted for.
Kanawha County Magistrate Julie Yeager asked Smith if he thought the charge was the same as the three prior charges.
"Yeah, I know for a fact it's the same - same statements from the same guy," Smith said, "It's the same exact everything that I got back then."
Yeager said she will check on the possible doubling up when the clerk's office reopens on Monday, but, for now, Smith remains in jail.
Smith is currently at the Southwestern Regional Jail, where he will remain under a $50,000 bond and a U.S. Marshal's hold.
