Paintsville , Johnson County , Kentucky
A Floyd County man is facing several charges after deputies said he hit a couple of cars and drove into a culvert in Johnson County.
Shane Dye, 33, of Grethel was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, two counts of failing to render aid, open alcoholic beverage containers in a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and other driving offenses.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Department said there were two reports of hit-and-run accidents along Kentucky Highway 1107 near Paintsville on Wednesday. Callers told emergency dispatchers to report a pickup truck driving erratically. Deputies said they caught up with the suspect who they said was asleep behind the wheel of the truck that was stuck in a culvert. Deputies said they found open liquor bottles and prescription medication inside the truck.
Dye was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
