A police officer with the Gallipolis Police Department will be participating in a run that will honor fallen officers.
Patrolman Justin Rice will participate in the Law Enforcement Ride and Run to Remember on October 13 in Washington D.C. Officer Rice is asking for support from the community and his team. His team is called Running 4 Gallia.
The run is an event that will honor officers killed in the line of duty and promote law enforcement safety. Proceeds will go towards the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Gallipolis police officer David Poling was killed while on duty on May 22, 2007. Rice has dedicated his run in Poling's honor. Those wishing to make a donation can do so at the Gallipolis Police Department or click
