A new law in one city hopes to make a clean sweep against properties that have been overrun with the region's meth problem.
Ashland, K.y. is now one of four cities in the Blue Grass State which passed an ordinance making it illegal for anyone to return inside a meth home, unitl a Common Wealth apporved contractor performs a clean up.
There is also a time frame in which the meth mess must be cleaned or the city will take over.
Jane Pritchard works at a nail salon that neighbors an alleged meth home in Ashland. Pritchard hopes the new city code will make a difference in the meth problem in her community.
"It's great!" Pritchard said. "We are so glad it passed because they busted them one time, and they were right back in within a week."
The city code states that if the city is forced to step in and clean up a home. The could possess the home.
