State police cars lined the typically peaceful Division Road in East Pea Ridge Tuesday, after two people were found dead inside this home.
A neighbor, who preferred not to be identified, said, "I was just appalled. Lots of families here. People walk their dogs and with their kids and nothing like that happens here."
She and other neighbors were understandable shaken up that the deaths happened in their usually quiet neighborhood. "My neighbor came in and said something was going on. My next door neighbor and said the police cars were there and the ambulance, she said.
Troopers identified 31-year-old Barry Stewart and 34-year-old Kimberly Stines. Troopers say they believe this is an isolated incident, possibly a murder-suicide, but they are not ruling otu other causes.
Trooper N.K. Sayre said, "We don't know what events transpired yet, but that's something we're working on right now."
A crime scene team was on scene for more than five hours going over evidence.
Neighbors say the two had a volatile relationship. A neighbor said, "The lady had moved in and out. They had gotten divorced. They had been married at one time. They'd gotten divorced but she'd moved in and out."
However, they never imagined it would end so tragically.
