Huntington , Cabell County , West Virginia
A special tribute was held in Huntington Friday, as the city remembered longtime city council member Jim Ritter for his service to the area.
A portion of Auburn Road in the Westmoreland area of Huntington was designated as Jim Ritter Road.
Ritter passed away in May 2012. He served on Huntington’s city council for more than 20 years.
His widow said she was honored.
“It means everything, and we're just so proud of Jimmy,” she said. “He did so much and loved Westmoreland. He loved everybody down here. This is just great. I know he's here somewhere.”
Ritter grew up in the Westmoreland area and later moved back to the area.
