A Huntington woman has been sentenced for her role in a five-car accident that killed one man.
Tanika Jones was sentenced Thursday to one year probation for negligent homicide in Cabell County Circuit Court. In May, Jones pleaded no contest to the charge.
In May 2011, Jones was driving a car that clipped another car, sending it into oncoming traffic on the 17th Street Bridge in Huntington. Dwayne Lawson of Gallipolis died at the scene of that accident.
A Huntington woman accused of causing a five-car accident that left one man dead pleaded no contest to negligent homicide.
Tanika Jones was in Cabell County Circuit Court Friday morning and pleaded no contest to the accident that killed Dwayne Lawson of Gallipolis in May 2011. Investigators said the car she was driving clipped Lawson's car, which sent it into oncoming traffic. Lawson died at the scene.
Jones faces up to one year in prison when she is sentenced in July.
