Cabell Huntington Hospital showed off its new and improved burn unit Tuesday afternoon.
It's the only burn unit in West Virginia and serves patients in the Tri-State and part of Virginia.
The burn intensive care unit will expand from four beds to six, with double the amount of space.
More than 350 burn patients are treated each year for burns from things such as house fires, chemicals and car accidents.
Staff members and even some former patients got a chance to tour the new facilities Tuesday.
The upgrades cost $1.8 million and took about a year to build.
