A new position with the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force was made to head pill trafficking investigations in Lawrence County, Ohio.
The investigator will help the Task Force in their efforts to crack down on prescription trafficking and abuse in the area, Lawrence Prosecutor Brigham Anderson said. Grant funding in 2012 will allow the Task Force to employ a full-time pharmaceutical diversion investigator, according to a release issued by the prosecutor.
The Task Force provides drug awareness and education to medical staff, educators and civic organizations. There is also a 24 hour, drug tip line available to anonymously report drug activity at (740) 534-5830.
