The city of Dunbar has decided to change the schedule for traffic while the Dunbar Toll Bridge is being inspected.
On Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24, one lane of the bridge will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The full bridge will be closed to traffic from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, March 25, through Friday, March 29.
The City of Dunbar has received information from the Senior Project Engineer regarding the bridge inspection. They have decided to actually close the bridge at night instead of trying to make it one lane during the day. The anticipated schedule is as follows:
Saturday and Sunday (March 23 and 24) -
One lane closure for the hours of 8am until the 5PM.
Monday through Friday (March 25th - March 29)
Full bridge closure from 10:00PM until 6:00AM.
One lane of the Dunbar Toll Bridge will be shut down from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. through Friday.
Motorists should also expect delays on Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24, from 8am to 6pm.
Since this route is the detour for many while the Dick Henderson Memorial Bridge is being rebuilt, it may be a bit of a headache, but you can still get across. One lane will remain open so that the bridge can still be used; it will just be a little more congested.
