A woman and a 5-year-old boy were injured Tuesday when a vehicle rolled over in Cross Lanes.
Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies said Misty Hayes, 25, was driving when she lost control of her vehicle about 8 a.m. at 4988 Big Tyler Road. Hayes and the child had non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said. Both were transported to the hospital. Hayes appeared to have a shoulder injury, and the child was complaining about hand pain.
The driver told deputies she turned to say something to the child in the backseat when one of the vehicle's wheels dropped off the roadway, and the Chevy Malibu she was driving rolled over.
One lane of the roadway was shut down while crews cleared the accident scene.
