The West Virginia state high school boys basketball tournament kicked off Wednesday at the Charleston Civic Center, and teams are vying to be called state champions.

The quarterfinals are Wednesday and Thursday, the semifinals are on Friday and the finals are on Saturday. In tournament action so far, Charleston Catholic defeated Buffalo in Class A, and Beckley downed Hurricane in Class AAA.
