Potholes have seemed to plague Huntington for years, and people are fed up. But now, city officials are trying to smooth out the problem.
Catherine Porter and others in the South Side neighborhood in Huntington have had it with potholes.
"It pierces your tires and wakes up the neighbors," Porter said.
That is why the people living here were happy to see city council taking action on Sunday.
Councilman Mark Bates took a drive to make a list of the worst roads.
The city of Huntington has a $1 million budget for fall and spring paving and Mayor Steve Williams wants input from city council members on where to begin.
For Tina Pugh, the bumpy roads meant a bumpy ride when she would try to push her toddler's stroller.
"It’s good to see them come look at this," Pugh said.
People hope to see their tax dollars soon be put to work to fix a long standing problem.
Huntington City Council members will present their 'Road Report' to the mayor at Monday's city council meeting.
