State Police have released the names of the two children killed Friday on Interstate 79 in Braxton County.

Michaela White, 12, and John King, 14, were thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene of the accident, State Police said. The wreck occurred when Amy King lost control of her sport utility vehicle, slid down a hillside and then hit some trees. King was the mother of Michaela White, and King was her nephew.

King, her two other daughters, and her mother were taken to the hospital but have been released.

State Police said the children in the vehicle were not wearing seat belts. King received a ticket for failure to maintain control of her vehicle and for failing to make the children wear seat belts.

State Police said the two victims who died in a crash in Braxton County were two children, ages 12 and 14.

The accident happened about 2 p.m. Friday along Interstate 79 near Frametown.

State Police said the driver of a sport utility vehicle lost control, slid down a hill, hit several trees and landed in a ditch.

The kids were thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Two other children and two adults were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be OK.

None of the children was wearing a seat belt.

State Police said charges are pending.
