The Ashland Police Department said the owner of a novelty shop being investigated for synthetic drugs turned herself in to authorities.
A warrant for the arrest of Yvonda Nichols, 55, of Greenup was issued after her shop, Dark Wings, was under investigation. Police said Nichols turned herself in at the Boyd County Courthouse on Friday and was released on bond.
Nichols faces a charge of the use and investment of drug-related income. Dark Wings was being investigated in February after police suspected synthetic drugs were being sold.
The Ashland Police Department issued an arrest warrant for the owner of a novelty shop on felony drug charges.
Yvonda Nichols, 55, of Greenup was charged with the use and investment of drug-related income. On Wednesday, police searched Dark Wings Novelty Shop in the 500 block of 29th Street in Ashland and said they found synthetic drugs, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of suspected marijuana.
Further charges could be pending when the case is presented to a Boyd County grand jury.
