Six people are dead after a multi-car accident on a Kentucky highway on Interstate 65 near Elizabethtown Saturday afternoon.
Kentucky state police said a semi-truck rear ended a Ford Expedition, causing it to strike another car.
The expedition then burst into flames killing six people inside.
Those dead include a Wisconsin couple in their sixties, three of their foster children and an elderly woman. Two of the couple's other foster children managed to escape.
About fifteen minutes after that wreck, a separate crash happened in the southbound lanes, injuring three people. Police believe the second accident may have been the result of rubber necking.
