Girls invaded the Clay Center in Charleston Saturday for the Discover Engineering Day.
Hundreds of children and their families from around the Mountain State packed the center to learn more about engineering.
Many women from the field were on hand to help encourage them to create, design, and learn as part of National Engineers Week.
“I think one of the most important messages we're getting across today is that engineering may sound scary and difficult, but with these hands on activities it's something anyone can do,” said Lewis Ferguson, director of education for the Clay Center. Hopefully, if the kids are interested, they might choose to pursue that in their college career.”
Bridgemont Community and Technical College has sponsored the event for the past five years during National Engineers Week.
