The Lincoln County school bond levy has failed. Final results had 1,777 (75 percent) voting against it, and 595 (25 percent) voting for it.

The finally tally isn't in yet, but with 11 out of 16 precincts reporting, the Lincoln County school bond levy is failing. 71% have voted against the bond levy and 28% have voted for it.

Voters hit the polls in Lincoln County Saturday to weigh in on a multi-million dollar school building bond.

Officials said turnout was strong in the vote on the levy, which, if passed, would fund the building of a Midway-Duvall Elementary School, a Guyan Valley Middle School, additions to West Hamlin & Harts Elementaries and athletic facilities Lincoln County High School.

If the $24 million levy is approved by voters, the West Virginia School Building Authority will kick in an extra $17 million.

Voters in Lincoln County are set to go to the polls Saturday to vote on a multi-million dollar school building bond.

County Assessor Joshua Brumfield says, if the project is approved, the West Virginia School Building Authority has pledged $17 million, making Lincoln County residents responsible for $24 million of the total cost over a 15-year period.
