According to neighbors, Hadinger is also a pastor at the Faith Gospel Church in Gallipolis Ferry.
A Mason County substitute teacher is facing child abuse charges against a student.
James Hadinger, 43, of Gallipolis Ferry was charged with two counts of child abuse. Deputies said the suspect was a substitute teacher at Hannan Junior High and Hannan High School and became involved with a student over several weeks, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mason Magistrate Court.
Deputies said the suspect took the student to a basketball game and then to an abandoned home where the alleged abuse happened. According to the complaint, Hadinger wrote a written confession to the crimes.
Hadinger is currently at the Western Regional Jail with his bond set at $200,000.
A substitute teacher has been arrested for inappropriate activity with a student at a school in Mason County, Mason County Sheriff Greg Powers said.
Deputies have not released further information at this time, but the suspect has been taken to the Western Regional Jail.
