Two brothers were arrested and charged with attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab, St. Albans Police Capt. James Agree said.
Jonathon Dewayne Eads, 26, and Joseph Michael Eads, 28, were arrested in connection with the investigation, Agee said.
A complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court said a St. Albans police officer saw a vehicle turn into a driveway Tuesday with improper signaling and discovered that it had improper registration. He turned around and pulled behind the vehicle and saw two males walk into a residence at 2418 McKinley Ave.
The officer said he knocked on the door and spoke with Joseph Michael Eads. Eads said he had purchased the vehicle, but he was driving on a suspended license, and there was no insurance on the car, the complaint said. Police said they discovered a black bag in the car and a glass jug with contents that are consistent with products in the making of meth.
The Metro Drug Unit was contacted to conduct tests on the lab, and the Division of Environmental Protection was called to clean up the lab.
