Two separate accidents on Interstate 64 near mile marker 17 in Barboursville Monday morning caused congestion in traffic for eastbound travelers.
By 1 p.m., all lanes had reopened. Dispatchers said the first accident was reported about 9:30 a.m. It was unclear what time the other accident happened. A tractor-trailer and several other cars were apparently involved in the accidents in the area.
Dispatchers said at least three people were injured and were transported to the hospital. Traffic heading eastbound on I-64 near the Merritt's Creek exit were slowed.
