Firefighters say a deadly fire that killed a Pike County family has led to a new focus on fire prevention.
The Jan. 6 fire in Jonancy killed a father and four small children, and severely injured their mother.
Investigators said the home did not have a working smoke detector.
Members of the Pike County Firefighters Association said nine of the 26 fire departments in the county have formed a group dedicated to fire prevention.
They also said departments across the county are handing out free smoke detectors to the community.
