Two Fayette County men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion robbery and brutal beating in the Hilltop area of Fayette County.
Steven R. Sullivan, 33, of Oak Hill and Jeremy S. Bailey, 33, of Glen Jean were arrested and charged Friday with robbery, burglary and assault during the commission of a felony, according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies received a report on Jan. 29 from 911 about a home invasion robbery that occurred in the Prudence Road area in Hilltop. When deputies responded, they found that Daniel Sullivan, 58, had been the victim of a home invasion robbery and had been brutally beaten.
Two masked men forced their way into the residence and beat him repeatedly with a metal heater and attempted to steal drugs from his residence, the sheriff's office said. Sullivan was transported to Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill for treatment and later transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center. He is still recovering from his injuries.
Deputies said Sullivan and Bailey were being arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court. Sullivan is the stepson of the victim.
