A Wayne County couple was charged with child abuse after allegations involving their adoptive children.
Donald Hannah, 55, and his wife, Linda Hannah, 50, of Crum were arrested Wednesday. West Virginia State Police Cpl. M. Moore said the Hannahs were foster parents to a brother and sister who they later adopted.
Moore said children were treated well at first until there were allegations that Donald Hannah abused the girl in the summer of 2010. Moore said the girl tried to speak with her adoptive mother about the abuse, but she didn't believe her. Troopers said that's when the abuse began to escalate and the girl was forced to sleep outside on the porch and the children were physically abused.
Donald and Linda Hannah were each charged with two counts of child neglect and two counts of child abuse.
