TRAFFIC CONGESTION Major Traffic Jam At Busy Shopping Center

There were major backups and delays at the Shops at Trace Fork along Corridor G in South Charleston on Saturday.
Metro 911 says they received multiple calls about the congestion and Eyewitness News received multiple calls from those who were stuck in traffic, some say they were stuck for a couple of hours as they were leaving shops like Target and Best Buy.
South Charleston Chief of Police Brad Rhinehart says that area is always congested the weekend before Valentine's Day, but unlike Christmas time, he says the plaza management does not contract officers out to direct traffic this time of year. The traffic became so congested that officers did start directing traffic in the area. Chief Rhinehart says the congestion will likely continue through tomorrow.
