A St. Albans woman was lucky to be alive after a train struck her vehicle in Eastern Kanawha County Friday.
Roberta Wolfe of St. Albans was attempting to cross the train tracks at Center Street in Pratt about 9 a.m. when a CSX train hit her vehicle, totaling it.
Wolfe received minor injuries including a bruise on her head, but she refused to be taken to the hospital.
She claimed that the lights at the crossing were not working, but admitted the crossing arms were down or coming down. She was cited for ignoring a traffic control device and for no insurance.
When CSX officials arrived on the scene, however, they tested the warning system, confirming that the lights and safety arms were working.
The CSX train that struck Wolfe's vehicle reportedly has a camera inside of it. No word on whether that video will be released. Keep checking wchstv.com.
