Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies have taken a man accused of being an Army deserter into custody.
Deputies received a tip that Matthew Jack Kirk, 35, of Charleston was staying at his parent’s home. Deputies traveled to the home and took Kirk into custody without incident on Tuesday.
Kirk was transported to the South Central Regional Jail to await Army officials for transfer to their custody.
