Third Man Sentenced In Violent Home Invasion In Athens County

A third man was sentenced for his part in a violent home invasion in Athens County, Ohio, in which an elderly woman was robbed and stabbed.
Colin W. Stout, 21, of Coolville was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Monday. Stout appeared in the Athens County Common Pleas Court to plead guilty in a multi-count indictment, Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn said.
In January 2012, Stout and three others drove to the elderly woman's home, attacked and robbed her. The woman survived, but spent months rehabilitating.
In December, Christopher Fleming was sentenced to nine years and nine months for the crime. In November, Cody Stout was sentenced to nine years and nine months for his part. Colin and Cody are brothers. The fourth suspect, Brandon Bakers, is scheduled for a jury trial later this month.
An Ohio man pleaded guilty Tuesday to his part in a violent home invasion in which an elderly woman was stabbed and robbed.
Christopher Fleming, 21, of Belpre pleaded guilty in Athens County Common Pleas Court. Fleming will serve nine years and nine months in prison, according a news release from Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn.
Blackburn said that in January, Fleming drove three people to an elderly woman's home. Two men allegedly entered the home and attacked and robbed her.
In November, Cody J. Stout, 23, of Coolville was sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison. Blackburn said Stout was one of the men who went inside the woman's home and attacked her.
A fourth suspect was arrested in connection with a robbery and stabbing of an elderly woman, according to Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly.
Detectives arrested Christopher Fleming, 20, Brandon Baker, 19, both of Belpre, and Colin Stout, 20, of Coolville on Tuesday, Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly said. A fourth suspect, Cody Stout, 23, of Coolville, was arrested on Wednesday. Cody and Colin are brothers.
The alleged attack took place in January earlier this year. Police said attackers broke in to an 82 year-old woman's house on Brandeberry Road in Coolville. The woman was beaten and stabbed and spent months rehabilitating, police said.
Christopher Fleming and Cody Stout is charged with complicity to aggravated burglary and felonious assault. Brandon Baker and Colin Stout are charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault. Additional charges could be pending.
