Two people died in separate accidents in Floyd County on Sunday.
In the first accident, a Floyd County, Ky., man died after hitting an embankment and flipping his truck.
Gary L. Arnett, 56, of Martin died on Sunday. Troopers said Arnett lost control of his truck while traveling on KY 1428 in Allen, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. Troopers said his truck hit an embankment, flipped and returned to its wheels. Troopers said Arnett was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, in a separate accident on Sunday, Billy Crider, 49, of Prestonsburg died and a passenger was injured when Crider's vehicle drove over an embankment and landed on its top.
One man died and another person was injured in an accident in Floyd County, Ky.
Billy Crider, 49, of Prestonsburg died Sunday. Emergency responders arrived on the scene of a single-car accident on Ky 194 in the Cow Creek community, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. Investigators believe the car drove off the roadway, over an embankment and landed on the roof. Crider was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was injured in the accident and was sent to Highlands Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital.
