Marshall University is streamlining its academic college structure this summer.
The university announced Friday that the Graduate School of Education and Professional Development and existing College of Education units will become a new College of Education on July 1.
In addition, Marshall's School of Journalism and Mass Communications will combine with the School of Music and Theatre and the School of Art and Design. The new college's name hasn't been selected.
Several administrative positions will undergo changes as well, including the retirement of Donna Spindel as dean of the Marshall Graduate College.
College of Fine Arts dean Donald Van Horn will oversee the combined journalism, music and arts college.
