Nearly two weeks after a Charleston bank was robbed, police have captured the suspect.

Police arrested William Young Wednesday evening in Louisville, Ky. Police have been searching for Young, the man they said robbed the BB&T along Patrick Street in Charleston, since the Feb. 1 robbery.

Investigators said they tracked him down using surveillance video from around the bank. They noticed a tractor-trailer parked near the bank at the time of the robbery. They then contacted the company, TSI, and that company said he was one of its drivers.

Young is facing robbery charges and is waiting extradition back to West Virginia.

Charleston police continue to search for a man who robbed a Patrick Street bank on Friday morning.

Police are optimistic they'll be able to catch the suspect because he left a very important clue behind. His picture.

Crime scene tape and cop cars weren't the scene Donnie Boggess expected to see at work Friday morning.

"We figured that the bank had been robbed and right about that time, they come over and asked us for our video tapes and stuff," said Donnie Boggess who works near the bank.

A brazen robbery, but maybe not the brightest suspect. Surveillance video caught the man in the act and soon police had a clear picture of who they were looking for.

"We have been looking for the suspect ever since and we are now collecting evidence inside that we hope will lead us to be able to capture the individuals that perpetrated this crime," said Charleston Police Chief of Detectives Lt. Steve Cooper.

"There was cops running up and down the river banks, searching for something dropped. They had taken about 12 different cop cars, yellow taped everything off," said Boggess.

The suspect went into the BB&T Bank, and handed the teller a note saying he had a gun, and he was willing to use it. Police say he never actually showed the gun, but they're not taking the investigation lightly.

"No one was injured, we feel good about that. We are now working...our entire detective bureau with some of our undercover guys and with the FBI on this investigation," said Cooper.

Call Charleston Police if you have any information.

Metro 911 reported a bank robbery occurred Friday morning at the BB&T on Patrick Street in Charleston.

The robbery occurred about 10:05 a.m. A dispatcher said a man came into the bank and told a teller he had a weapon. He threatened to shoot everyone unless the money was handed over, but the dispatcher said he never displayed a weapon.

Police were looking for a black male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds and wearing a dark jacket, black toboggan and a blue hoodie.
