WATER LINE REPAIRED Water Service Restored In Winfield After Water Line Rupture

Service has been restored to customers in Winfield affected by the rupture of a water line.
The incident happened about 9 a.m. Monday across from the Winfield Dairy Freeze. A spokeswoman for West Virginia American Water said a contracting crew working for the city was installing sidewalks in the area when workers hit a water main. They had to shut off the water for about half an hour while they repaired the water main.
West Virginia American said there is no need for a boil water advisory.
A water line ruptured near Winfield High School.
Winfield Police Chief John Prine said the rupture was causing some water outages in Winfield.
Prine said West Virginia American Water hoped to have the water line repaired by Monday evening.
