A new survey shows the homeless population in Parkersburg has almost doubled.
Westbrook Health Services conducted a survey last week that found more than 100 people living at local shelters, and seven other homeless people living in the streets.
Those numbers are nearly double what they were in the count last January.
The group conducts the count each January and July. The findings are then turned over to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
