Supporters have given $605 million in gifts and in-kind donations to West Virginia University's "State of Minds" fund-raising campaign.
The WVU Foundation says the total as of Dec. 31 includes endowed scholarships and cash donations.
WVU Foundation President Wayne King says the fund-raising push has three years to go. But it's already at 81 percent of the $750 million goal.
One of the biggest gifts so far is a nearly $18 million software donation from Schlumberger.
The initiative is focused on priority areas identified in WVU's 2020 strategic plan.
They include: improving the undergraduate experience; advancing research; improving the state's health, economy and quality of life; and supporting health care.
