Martin Luther King Jr. Day was observed in Charleston Monday with a march and bell ringing ceremony.
The march proceeded from Asbury United Methodist Church on Elizabeth Street to the West Virginia State Capitol, where a bell ringing ceremony was conducted on the north plaza.
A reception followed the bell ringing ceremony at the state Culture Center, where participants had an opportunity to view the presidential inauguration on large-screen televisions.
