A third person has been arrested in connection with a foot chase and escape in Charleston Friday afternoon. Police took Edward Jacobs, Jr. into custody shortly before 8 p.m. Friday near the house on Frank Hilll Drive. Police are still looking for James Reyes. Two suspects who were arrested Friday afternoon following a foot chase and escape on the West Side were arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. John Montgomery and Kashea Dekhuana Jones both of Charleston were charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to criminal complaints filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Police said they initially made a traffic stop on the West Side and arrested three suspects, including Jones. They then went to Jones' residence at 2006 Frank Hill Drive to serve a search warrant. Prior to serving the warrant, police said, Montgomery fled and was caught after a short foot dispute. The three suspects who were stopped in the traffic stop escaped from police custody. Jones was captured, but police are still looking for the two other suspects. While searching the Frank Hill Drive residence, police said, they found a large quantity of heroin in a safe. Drug scales, baggies, U.S. currency and other packaging material also was found inside the safe, the complaint said. Charleston drug unit officers arrested two people Friday afternoon and two other suspects were still being sought after a traffic stop turned into an escape and foot pursuit. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the West Side, where they arrested three occupants on a possession with intent to deliver narcotics. Police then went to a house on Frank Hill Drive to see if they could obtain a search warrant. When the officer went up to the house, one person took off running and a foot pursuit ensued. Three occupants from the cruiser also escaped. Police were able to recapture a female who escaped from the cruiser and the man who fled from the house. Two other suspects were still being sought. A man and a woman are in custody following a foot pursuit by Charleston police in the Chandler Drive area. Police responded to West Side Hill for a possible break in and had been searching for suspects. Eyewitness News has a crew at the scene. Charleston police were searching Friday afternoon for suspects after a foot pursuit in the Chandler Drive area. The pursuit ensued after a possible break-in on West Side Hill.
