St. Albans police said A 15-year-old girl walking to school Wednesday morning was struck by a white van.
The van fled the scene after hitting the girl. The accident happened in Ordnance Park.
After she was struck, the girl made her way to her friend's home on Lincoln Avenue, where they called for medical assistance.
The girl was transported to Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
