A Junior ROTC instructor is behind bars accused of having sex at school with an underage student.
Kanawha County deputies arrested 44-year-old Martin Kirby Monday night. He is a JROTC instructor at George Washington High School and is now facing criminal charges.
The alleged incidents happened around September 2010. Eyewitness News has been told Kirby would talk to the teenage girl on the phone and arrange meetings in the JROTC office at the high school. It is there, where we're told Kirby had sexual intercourse with the underage girl on multiple occasions. Court documents say the pair continued communicating through text messages, e-mails and telephone calls.
Kirby is charged with sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.
