State Police said a corrections officer at the South Central Regional Jail has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with several female inmates.
James Daniel Green, 22, of Charleston was charged with imposition of sexual acts on persons incarcerated or under supervision, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
State Trooper J.S. Pauley said he was notified by a member of the jail staff on Dec. 13, 2012, about an alleged sexual assault involving Green and several female inmates who shared a cell. One of the women claimed that on Sept. 20, 2012, Green touched her genital area; the other woman alleged that on the same day he forced her to perform oral sex on him.
One of the women also claimed that Green exposed himself, forced her to perform oral sex and touched her genital area later the same month, the complaint said.
On Sunday, Pauley said he questioned Green and the corrections officer acknowledged the sexual contact with the women, but he said it was consensual.
