The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association shelter is reopening following an outbreak of distemper.
Executive Director Donna Clark told Eyewitness News that the shelter was scheduled to reopen at 12 p.m. Thursday.
Employees and volunteers have been cleaning the shelter since it closed Dec. 19.
The shelter will resume adoptions Thursday. It has been accepting new animals for several days.
