The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Portsmouth has named the 2012 Trooper of the Year and the 2012 Telecommunications Award recipients.
Trooper C. Michael Newman has been chosen for Trooper of the Year in recognition for his outstanding service at the Portsmouth Post. Newman was chosen because of the number of impaired drivers he was able to take off Scioto County's roadways, according to a new release from the Highway Patrol.
